Rain Postpones Petty Season Finale to Sunday

RIVER GLADE, NB (September 24, 2011) – Mother Nature has rained on the season finale planned for today at Petty International Raceway. As a result, the Carnahan Property Management 150 will be run in its entirety Sunday at 1 p.m.

More than 80 cars in five divisions (pro stock, sportsman, street stock, 4 cylinder, and Bandoleros) were at Petty Saturday waiting on the weather; everyone has indicated they will return Sunday. The track will remain open for practice until this evening in case it clears later on.

"It may clear after a while'" said Brett Benoit, co-owner. "But by the time we get the track dry and run some practice and then the show we'd be here until the wee hours of Sunday morning, which is just not feasible. Sunday's forecast looks fantastic so we'll look forward to a great day tomorrow."

The pit area will open Sunday morning at 8 a.m. with practice to follow. The box office and main grandstand will open at 11 a.m. Racing will start at 1 p.m. for all five divisions.

Petty International Raceway is located on Highway 106, just 40 km west of Moncton, New Brunswick.
