RIVER GLADE, NB (July 16, 2011) – Nova Scotia's Frank Fraser, Jr. picked up where his father left off more than a decade ago at Petty International Raceway – in Victory Lane. The elder Fraser Fraser was dominant force at the track 10 years ago, and the younger Fraser was a dominant force at Petty last night, taking the lead in the Napa Sportsman Super Series 100 on lap 71 and holding on for the win. With Fraser family roots running deep in the Moncton area the win was a popular one.

Just as popular was the second-place finish by Shawn MacLean from Colpitts Settlement. MacLean is the grandson of Maritime motorsports legend Ernie MacLean, a well-known regional racing promoter. Memramcook's Marc Gautreau finished third after leading the race from laps 15 to 70. Fred Broussard was the only other lap leader holding the point from the green flag until being overtaken by Broussard.

Broussard, Scott Allen, and Gautreau won the sportsman heat races.

In Maritime League of Legends racing it was Nova Scotia's Dylan Blenkhorn taking the win in the 50-lap feature. Ontarios' Chad Windsor was second and Nova Scotia's Paul Blenkhorn (Dylan's father) was third. Nova Scotia's Justin MacNeill and Richard Salter won Legends heat races.

The 4-Cylinder division saw a 30 lap feature with Lynden MacDougall from Sydney, NS taking the win followed by Mike Edwards and Bob Hallihan (both from New Brunswick). Edwards won the 4-Cylinder heat race.

The Eastern Mini-Cup Series demonstrated their ½-scale race cars to the audience with plans to return to Petty in 2012 for racing action.
